Appearance:

• Body: deep metallic blue, often uniform from head to tail

• “Diamond” shine: strong iridescent gloss that reflects light (almost jewel-like)

• Tail: blue or blue-black, usually half-moon shaped

• Dumbo ears: oversized pectoral fins, commonly light blue, silver, or translucent

• Overall look: rich dark blue body with elegant flowing fins

• Male: intense color, slimmer body, very showy

• Female: larger, rounder body, muted blue/gray tones, smaller ears
