Appearance Description
Body color:The body usually has a metallic purple to lavender sheen, sometimes shifting toward bluish or pink tones depending on lighting. The scales often look glossy, almost “dragon-scale” like, giving it that armored shimmer.
Dragon pattern:Along the body, you’ll see dense, reflective scales (the “dragon” trait) that create a bold, textured look—more intense than standard guppy patterns.
Dumbo ear pectoral fins:One of its most striking features. The oversized pectoral fins fan out like elephant ears. These are often deep purple, violet, or translucent with purple edging, and they flutter gracefully when the fish swims.
Tail (Halfmoon):The tail spreads into a near-perfect half circle (180°) when fully flared. Color ranges from solid purple to purple with darker edging or subtle gradients, sometimes with a satin or metallic finish.
Dorsal fin:Tall and flowing, matching the tail in color and pattern, adding to the fish’s dramatic silhouette.
Overall impression:Elegant, bold, and luxurious. When swimming, the wide tail and dumbo fins give it a slow, floating, almost regal motion—very eye-catching in a planted or dark-substrate tank.
